I feel a bit weirded out by today... AND THE DAY ISN'T OVER!
I don't feel like going into details.. just note a few things...
- Blackberry, the government and DC Metro must have a sweet deal for Blackberry's blatant advertising campaign at the L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station. (sheesh) Can we say OVERKILL?
- I think I want a new Blackberry...
- How is it you are telling me about a job and getting me to fill out paperwork and you can't hand me a job description about the company or position?
- I wonder if I can make my Blackberry Pearl walk...
- Why do you need to know my full middle name? Why couldn't you be happy with just my middle intially.
- My Blackberry doesn't care about my middle name.
- Sitting in a corner of a local cafe.. or in my case a Starbucks... doesn't get old. It's still a cherished moment.
- I Need to figure out how to use the MP3 player on my Blackberry so I can give the Ipod a rest.
- How is it I reach out to the communications division of a local theater to join the subscription/pr staff and they want to see me about their box office manager position? Whose missing what here? Me or them?
- When I finally do get a full time job I will NOT intergrate my work email with my Blackberry. Nope. I will not drive myself crazy. Blackberry will stay personal.
- Walking through Chinatown listening to M.I.A's Paper Planes in my IPod is hillarious.
- I wonder whomever hires me will give hand me another Blackberry just for work.
- Everyone looks foreign in Chinatown, hence why Paper Planes makes the scene look funny.
- I wonder if I can set Paper Planes as a ringtone for my Blackberry... although my current one is still cool
- Why do I always get cat called by the dudes without teeth?
- Mental Note: Place 911 on Speed Dial on Blackberry.
- I now fully realize who Mr. Espy is and where his office is located.
- I wonder if he is a Blackberry fan or IPhone nut.
- After reading the ad inside one of the metro stations, I have a feeling I know what George Pelecanos new book is about; another stereotype of a DC neighborhood. Maybe he should stay in Baltimore. Too bad his show The Wire is over with though.
- Oh great! My daughter thinks my Blackberry is a yummy treat.
- Today wasn't a total waste.... I did get a new suit out of the "deal"
- Wow.. My Blackberry really matched me today! Talk about fashionable.
- Since there may be a shake up in YA's office once she is re-elected, I might as well try to jump on board with her full time for a while.
- I wonder if I do go into the DC Government could my Blackberry be connected with Superman.. err ummm Mayor Fenty in case I need his assistance....I need someone to bat away the toothless cat calling guys.
- Today's weather is nice, but (Tropical Storm) Hananah seems to want to prove herself to be the bigger bitch since Annie Oakly aka Tracy Flick aka Sarah Palin self proclaimed herself to be a bitch with lipstick.
- I wonder if McCain and Palin have Blackberries and if so do they text/email each other and if so what are the conversations like?

]]>I went down the street yesterday to pick up Lizzies birthday cake. An icecream cake. When I said I was there to pick up the cake the woman said to me - I'll just get you to mind the shop while I go and get it.
Umm, ok, sure.
Well it was 9am so I wasn't expecting to be rushed off my feet.
So she brings back the cake, looks good, I take it home then go about my day. I pick Lizzie up from school at 3.30 and when we get home she says can I look at the cake. I say, sure, and get it for her to have a look. And she says
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?????
And I say - what?
And she says - WHAT IS IT DOING IN THE FRIDGE???
Oops. So thats six and a half hours in the fridge. I was hardly game to open the box, but it wasn't running out the sides so that was good. We opened it and I said - DON'T TOUCH IT! Just in case it was barely holding together and one finger poke sent it into a slow collapse. So I put it in the freezer for four hours and it was fine. Anyway the one I had last year was so bloody frozen I just about needed a chainsaw to cut it. Now I'm not a huge ice cream fan but it wasn't bad.
And Kimba made a suprise visit which was good of her, seeing as how it meant being on a 6.40am train this morning to get back home in time for work. And she also arranged for flowers to be delivered to Lizzie yesterday.
Yay, baby! I (finally) got internet access back on my home computer after that tornado in February. But not just any internet access, I've got high speed internet access! WHOO-HOO!!!
I'm estatic to get back on here and vent, I mean, blog. And to catch up with all the cool ass folks in my neighborhood (you are!)...and the rest of Vox!
I've been watching CNN quite a bit this week, as well as The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. I was actually in St. Paul earlier this week, but not for the RNC. Hee!
I am super duper excited about several things:
*Mad Men -- Don you still rock my world!
*I finished the Twilight series and I loved it! So much so that I won't lend out my books to anyone. I've either bought the books for someone or directed them to the public library. Yeah, I know that's bad!
*I've started Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire Mystery series and I love it as well. It hasn't had quite the same swoon-y quality as the Twilight series for me, but I couldn't put Dead Until Dark down for nothing.
*HBO has developed a series based on that book series that looks very, very promising. It's called True Blood and it debuts on Sunday night at 8:00 p.m. CST. For those who care, Alan Ball (of Six Feet Under) is the creative force behind the series.
